Month 9
Week 36, Evil had not spent her time in the cabin she wanted to give birth in. After what had happened a mere week earlier, Haru had kept them elsewhere for the week. Evil had felt things lighten up in her stomach and she was able to relax more. Except for the fact she still had to pee a lot due to the thing being on her bladder. She had a longing to return the whole week but didn't complain. Haru had risked his life for her.
Week 37, nothing. There was no changes, Evil was as fat as she was going to get now. But she was finally back in the cabin and was happy. No one bothered the two. She had laid in bed most of this week and would for the other weeks to come, too. Her child was getting closer to coming. She guessed it'd be any day now, putting her on an emotional coaster that never seemed to end.
Week 38 had made an instinct in Evil kick in and she was all about the house this week. Folding clothes and getting everything all prepared. The instinct made her feel the need to have it all perfect. Then she had lost her cervix plug...which had been some gooey stuff along with some blood. Evil hadn't like the sight of it when it had come out during a bathroom break. She had shuddered and lost her appetite for the whole day.
Week 39 was nothing interesting at all. Evil had again taken to staying in bed as most heavily pregnant women did in those times. Her feet were so swollen and sore...she wished it would come already! She wanted the baby out and she wanted to see her feet again! It was the same with the current week she was on - 40. Unbeknowst to her, this was the week she was going to give birth. Her baby was going to come to her.
Evil was still bedridden, gazing at the ceiling with a bored look in her eyes. When was she going to get it out? She wanted it out! It was much too long - 9 months and one week. Evil was worried that'd the baby would never come out. What if it died inside of her? What would she do then? Doing this without a doctor was so tiresome...Evil had closed her eyes and drifted into a light slumber.

After returning home Haru had ound himself to be a bit paranoid. He was glancing about the shadows, reacting to every unnatural noise. He had just begun to calm down, sure that no one else was after them for now... On this particular day Haru found himself lazing about on the couch, a candle lit on the table behind him, and a book in hand. He hadn't read a good book in ages... and this one was pretty entertaining.
It was a comedy about two lovers... well, a less than attractive pursuer and a beautiful woman. They weren't lovers yet. But the people wanted happy endings, so it would more than likely end happily. Haru hoped it didn't. Otherwise it wouldn't be true - no beautiful woman (who knew she was beautiful) would ever, in her right mind, go for a less than attractive guy - unfortunately the man's only chance to claim her hand was through money, and he had none of that. The book was simply about his many attempts and turn-downs.
He was asleep half way through chapter five, and the candle flickered in a soft wind and quietly died with a puff of smoke. The house was still and the sweet songs of nightlife filled the air.

Evil had slept for what she guessed many hours before a nightmare had startled her away. Her whole body shuddered and her mouth had opened in a voiceless scream. Her dark eyes had glazed over and sweat was rolling down her body. Quickly she felt for her large stomach and felt it still to be there - unharmed. Her breathing was heavy and she tried to calm her shocked mind and body. It hadn't been real, it hadn't! The knife had not reached her in real life nor cut into her. It had never happened. Yet she still felt the dream was real and it was very vivid in her mind. Her screaming and pleaing and then the feeling of a knife into her stomach and twisting, cutting. A nightmare from a past event that had almost happened. The reason it had happened in the dream was because Haru had been too late in her dream and the dream had ended with all three of them dying, Evil the last to die. All she had been able to do was scream and cry while the two had died and then just cry as she had laid there and bled to death. When she had faded away into death in her mind, she had awoken.
Evil swallowed and realized her throat was dry and in need of water. Trying to call Haru's name, she could only rasp. A frown spread across her lips and slowly she sat up only to have water suddenly in front of her. Had Haru heard her? Evil blinked and took the cup it was held in, drinking it and noticing it was rather fresh. Too fresh for the water around here...Her dark eyes shifted, catching with another pair of dark eyes. But this individual was not Haru. His scent was completely different. He smelt of herbs mixed with the smell of a doctor's room where he operated. Her eyes had widened and a soft yelp had almost escaped her. But her throat was still dry and it came out a mere squeak.
"It's alright, drink. I'm not here to hurt you," came a soothing voice from the male. He smiled at her, "I haven't seen you in hundreds of years, Evil-chan. Not since your mother had fetched me when you were ill as a toddler."
This caused Evil to freeze and stare at the male. Who was he? She tried to recall his face but nothing was coming to mind. The cup had stopped at her lips and she felt the water against them. She desperately wanted to drink but she thought if she did she'd start coughing when and if he mentioned something about her he shouldn't know. How did he even know who and where her family was?
"Akira was my friend," the male explained, and Evil found it strange he used her father's real name. From what she could recall, everyone had called him 'Duffy' for some reason. "It was a shame when he left the clan with his wife and little one. But it was for the best. Times weren't great back then." He gave her a sad smile, "your mother was barely noticeably pregnant with you at that time."
"Who are you?" Evil had managed after a few moments after finishing the water. Her throat felt much better now. She wondered if he'd put some sort of herb in the water.
"I'm the Izumi clan's Healer - Seth," Seth responded. "I have been aware you've been out here. It's not really safe to give birth alone." He nodded toward her large tummy. Then looked at her, "I came in through the front door. The male sleeping, he's the father, no? He didn't notice me walk in." His dark eyes looked downward, "you're showing signs of labor, Evil-chan. You might just go into labor very soon."
