Crunch. Crunch. The snow was deep this morning - but it the first day of Spring. Ragnarok grumbled as she trudged through the snow. Her green eyes glittered with annoyance. Why she had ever had to be born here she didn't know. Her fur may have been heavy but the ice cold wind still pierced it. Her fur was black, but in different shades of black. A long patch of gray covered her belly and up her chest, stopping just before her muzzle. Her pelt thinned once it got to the head, but the rest of her was fluff - even her tail. It was annoying because it made her seem a bit too...cute? Hmph, she hated appearing weak.
Her stomach rumbled, protesting that she had yet to eat this morning. Screw food for right now, it was scare anyways. Though she did bother to stop at a small water hole and lap up a few drinks. The day was just another day, bound to be long and boring. How bothersome. Ragnarok lifted her head and let out a soft sigh, watching her own breath since it was visible. The mountains were always in a constant state of winter, it seemed. Living so high, that was expected. But Ragnarok would always find herself gazing longingly toward the trees farther down the mountain. That's where all the prey was, they only lived so high because it was difficult for others to get up here. All the ledges, twists and turns...it was dangerous for those who don't know where to go. Izumi attacking the camp would have quite a tiring task getting up here, let alone attacking and not falling down the steep mountain ledges.
Willing herself to tear her attention away from her breath, Ragnarok made her way to the center of the camp. Oh where did their oh-so-fearless leader get off to? Through the cold air she tried to catch his scent, her fluffy tail flicked. If he was anywhere here at the moment, he would be in his den. Maybe. That caused her to feel slightly annoyed, shouldn't he be up bright and early? Ragnarok took a seat in the middle of the camp, she turned and gave her shoulder a few good licks. It was futile to try and get her fur to lie flat. But the least she could do is keep it clean from all the snow clumps and dirty that might get in it.
"Ragnarok!"
Her ears twitched and her head turned, a small frown tugging at her muzzle. Oh great, here he came. The other male in the clan so far, Kure. Kure had to be the most ADD thing she had ever met. But he did have good intentions so at least that counted for something....right?
The hyperactive calico demon skidded to a stop behind her, splaying snow all over her back and in her face since it was turned. His own emerald eyes gleamed with excitement.
"Good morning, Ragnarok. How are you this morning?"
Ragnarok bit her tongue, tempted to say it had been just fine till he got snow all over her. Now she was going to have to shake it off and clean herself more thoroughly. Her ears laid flat despite herself.
"...Well...and...you?" She managed, trying to be polite rather than moody. To start the day off on a good paw would be a nice change for once.
"I'm fantastic," Kure purred and fluffed up his fur. "It feels great out here! I love the cold..."
At least someone does, Ragnarok muttered in her head. "That's nice." She replied shortly before quieting down. Now if only the third one in their little ...'clan'...would join them. He was the most important one after all.
